This is and excellent cabbage if you are attempting to grow your vegetables in a harsh northern climate, in a garden on top of a hill exposed to the worst of weather. I made a late sowing last year, and kept the young plants in a frame until they were 6 to 8 inches tall with plenty of root run, then planted out. We had our first young cabbage in June. Succesive sowings have kept us happy with our roast and two, or three veg. Another thing - right now there is a storm force wind battering even the blackcurrant bushes horizontal but these squat little cabbages are sitting smugly smiling in their rows.

Dark blue-green leaf with pointed hearts.

Sow Outdoors: May-September thinly ½in (1cm) deep direct in harvest location or clean module trays of firm pre watered compost. Keep soil moist at all times.

Thin Out: 12in (30cm) apart with 12in (30cm) between each row when plants have 3-4 true leaves.

Harvest: March-December

Protect from Cabbage White Butterfly with netting.
