Shallot Bulbs: Pikant
Pikant has a wonderfully robust flavour and produces smaller bulbs that crop very heavily. Very bolt resistant and keeps firm right up to May.
Plant as soon as possible in spring, just pushing into the soil, 6in/15cm apart. Each bulb planted will split to yield several shallots.

Just starting to eat these now as they are trying to bolt (mid June - there was a hot, dry spell a little while ago). They are really tasty and good enough to eat like apples. I wasn't overjoyed with the quantity, though.
