What a bean - superb long pods, completely stringless, flowers set well even when the weather isn't advantageous - difficult to find anything to say against it - without any special attention it produced pods that would have graced an exhibition bench without any shame.

Runner Bean Enorma Seeds 1030-3180

Tasty beans, and good exhibition quality.

Sow Indoors: April-May, singly in clean pots or modules of compost 2in (5cm) deep. Water well.

Sow Outdoors: May-June direct into the required harvest position, 2in (5cm) deep, 8in (20cm) apart in double rows 8in (20cm) apart. Leave 18in (46cm) between each double row. Keep soil moist at all times.

Plant Out: Indoor raised crops in June 8in (20cm) apart in double rows 8in (20cm) apart. Leave 18in (46cm) between each double row.

Harvest: July-September

Pick young for best flavour. Runner beans require trellis or a 'wig wam' of canes to climb through.

Standard Seeds E.C Rules and Regulations.
