This handsome and very ornamental Runner Bean has beautiful salmon pink flowers and is pretty enough to grow in the flower border!
Celebration is high yielding and produces straight, smooth, fleshy pods with good colour and flavour.
These tender beans came top in RHS Wisley taste test trials in 2006.

I grew Celebration here in the Lot Dept (France) and they were very successfull, took a little time to get underway, but nice tasty Runner Beand
I grew these in 2009 and got lots of very early beans and some very pretty flowers, this year,2010, one just appeared at the foot of a pole outside the greenhouse and is looking stunning and gives us almost enough for two from just this one plant. I shall be growing again.
Though I live in France (Charente) I got a selection of seeds from the UK last year, because it's impossible to buy some of them here, particularly runner beans, spring onions and parsnips. These can do well here, but you MUST remember to keep them well watered and preferably sheltered from the wind. It can get very hot in the summer, and the winds dry everything out. I shared my seeds with a French neighbour who was fascinated by runner beans, which she'd never seen before, and didn't know how to grow or cook!
Salmon pink flowers. Straight pods of good colour and flavour.
Sow Indoors: April-May, singly in clean pots or module trays of compost 2in (5cm) deep. Water well and keep warm.
Sow Outdoors: May-June, direct into the required harvest position 2 seeds, 2in (5cm) deep, 8in (20cm) apart. Keep soil moist at all times.
Plant Out: Indoor raised crops May-June 8in (20cm) apart after the risk of frost has passed.
Harvest: July-October
Runner beans require trellis or a 'wig wam' of canes to climb through. Pick beans young for best flavour.
