Growing Calendar for Potted Rose - Sun & the Heart 3.5L
Delivery: Late February to Late August
Rose ‘Sun & the Heart’ is a vibrant shrub rose for general planting. It produces five to nine musky scented flowers per cluster and will do well in all but the harshest conditions. Named after a poem of the same name, each yellow rose has a purple-red heart hidden deep in the base of the petals. Rose Sun and the Heart will grow in the smallest garden, and this rose is wonderful planted in groups as a massed planting. This rose will also thrive in a large container, and it would make a very romantic gift!
Plant roses into good garden soil that has been well dug and weeded; improve poor soil with compost. Dig a hole wide enough to take the root ball of the rose without cramping. Position the rose centrally in the planting hole with the bump on the stem (the graft union) level with the soil surface. Back fill with soil to cover the rose’s roots, firm in gently and water well. Prune roses to shape in spring and deadhead spent flowers as they fade to prolong the display.
