Very good value for money, given that the sacks are reusable. My plants grew taller than me last year (ie over 5'), and this in Yorkshire. I grew them wholly in compost, which is probably why. The only snag with these sacks is that there's no good way to empty just part of a bag without damaging the plants; it's all or nothing. I emptied my first sack too early--when the flowers were dying off--and was less than impressed with the 3.5lb and not very tasty harvest. The other two sacks, I left until the plants started to die back. Different planet! The potatoes tasted gorgeous and there were around 5lbs per sack. I will be buying Charlotte refills next Spring!

I bought the Charlotte variety grow sacks, and after chitting in the normal fashion, planted 5 seed potatoes in the bottom of the bag on top of about 3" of compost and then filled with another 3" layer. After potato shoots were sticking up about 5", i topped up until only the tops of the shoots were showing. I repeated this again until the bag was full to the brim. I was amazed at my bumper crop that i harvested after the flowers had opened. Provided you keep these bags well watered and in a sunny-ish spot you'll be amazed too! I'm planning to buy more bags next year as the crop from my bags has easily outweighed the main crop potatoes i grew in my plot. Well worth the money, i'd highly recommend investing in these.
