March sowings (according to packet instructions), did nothing (although I see Marshall's have now changed sowing times). Early April sowings were also a disappointment. Late April sowings were okay, but still didn't germinate as well as other types. The pods swell much bigger than the peas inside, which can make it tricky to determine whether the peas are ready or not. The peas are sweet and tasty.

Pea Onward Seeds 1030-3058

Traditional Main Crop, sweet flavour and always reliable.

Height: 24in (60cm)

Sow Outdoors: April-July in a flat bottomed trench 2in (5cm) deep, 8in (20cm) wide. Water the trench and scatter seeds so that they land 3in (7.5cm) apart. Carefully backfill the trench and firm lightly. Keep soil moist at all times.

Grow On: Support plants as they grow with netting and sticks.

Harvest: July-September

Sow every 4 weeks in order to maintain a steady supply of peas.
