This was my first year on an allotment and I didn't know what I was doing, but these peas looked after themselves, produced masses and tasted delicious. I had to stop myself eating them all raw there and then. Then also froze well and are a million miles from anything shop bought. I will definitely be doing even more of these this year. Main Crop semi-leafless variety with good flavoured peas.

Height: 24in (60cm)

Sow Outdoors: April-July in a flat bottomed trench 2in (5cm) deep, 8in (20cm) wide. Water the trench and scatter seeds so that they land 3in (7.5cm) apart. Carefully back fill the trench and firm lightly. Keep soil moist at all times.

Grow On: A sturdy plant not requiring canes.

Harvest: July-September

Sow every 4 weeks in order to maintain a steady supply of peas.
