Victoria plums are self-fertile and great at pollinating a number of other varieties. Their medium, egg-shaped, deep purple plums are ready for picking from late August.
Grown on roots to restrict their height to 28in (70cm) they produce lots of fruit at a height for easy-picking.
How your plants arrive
You receive our plum trees as young specimens growing strongly and sturdily and primed to produce lots of plums for you.
They arrive as a main stem studded with buds with lots of growing potential in spring.
The roots are covered in a pot in a polythene bag to keep the roots perfectly humid while transported from our nursery to your home.
When they first go in the ground, it’s their roots that really get growing; you won’t see this as it’s all happening underground. Once spring turns into summer those roots will promote lots of green growth above the soil.
Can’t plant straight away
If you can't plant up your fruit tree straight away that's fine so long as keep the roots covered in soil. You can even lay the tree horizontally on the soil so long as the roots are covered in moist soil.
Look to planting your fruit tree in its permanent position within 5-7 days. Potted fruit trees: If you can't plant up your fruit tree straight away keep your potted plant in a sunny position and keep the soil moist by watering each day. Look to planting into its permanent position within 5-7 days.
Plum Trees can are one of the easiest and most popular of the stone fruits that we grow in our gardens. These free-growing Plum Trees and Gage Trees need very little pruning, and most Plums are self-fertile meaning you only need one tree in your garden.
