It has a refined shape and smooth white skin which is easily cleaned and peeled.
Good canker resistance.
Sowed early April 2009 and great germination rates. Really tasty parsnips which stood the cold winter well. Great flavour. Will grow again this year

I grew these Gladiator Parsnips in my allotment in North London in 2009 and I was amazed at the size and flavour. All grew well. I shall grow them again this year. Truly a cracking parsnip.
As my garden is cold I did not sow the seed of my gladiator parsnips until June. They germinated like weeds and I thinned them rigorously. We have canker in the soil but this year they were virtually canker free. We cooked them for Christmas day in the oven having lightly boiled them and then dusted them with parmesan cheese and flour. Delicious and so much better straight from the garden.
