This was the first time I've grown parsnips and they did really well. The looked beautiful, grew to a good size and tasted lovely.
Long and tapered, with smooth skin and excellent flavour, good for showing.
Sow Outdoors: February-May in direct harvest location at ½ in (1cm) deep In rows 12in (30cm) apart.
Thin Out: to 6in (15cm) apart.
Plant Out:
Harvest: October-February Crops can remain in the ground till needed.
Parsnips are slow to germinate, So a catch crop can be grown along side the row.
August is primarily about harvesting your crops, but there are still some vegetables that can be sown and planted out!
