Growing Calendar for Osteospermum Lady Leitrim - Plants
Delivery: Early May to Mid June
Blush-white daisy like flowers with navy-blue centres, deepen to pink as they age. Makes an excellent ground covering, weed suppressant.
Tough little plants and just as beautiful as their more tender cousins. Once established these resilient perennials are drought tolerant and happy in hot, dry, even neglected conditions making great groundcover. Ideal for borders and containers they prefer well drained soil in sun.
Why choose perennial plants?
-They are supplied as large ‘garden ready’ young plants – typically measuring 12-15cm/5-6in from root to tip when delivered.
-They are excellent value for money, are easy to grow and will come back bigger and better each year .
-They will attract a huge range of wildlife from bees and beneficial insects to birds and butterflies!.
Perennial plants are the mainstay of the flower garden; many will flower all summer, becoming dormant in autumn to reappear in spring. Perennials tend to be non-fussy plants and are easy to look after - they just need the old stems cutting back in late autumn, which helps to promote new stems and vigorous growth the following spring, getting bigger and better every year!
