Apple Cox Pippin

Cox's Orange Pippin is a well known and very popular variety known for its reliability in cooler climates.

The thin skinned aromatic, crisp and juicy apples have a disjunctive flavour that is second to none.

This popular and tasty variety is self-fertile (SF) so it flowers and fruits independently. They produce fruit, even when planted in isolation.

This is the classic English apple, often regarded as the finest of all apples. It sets the benchmark for flavour in apples to which all others aspire.

The aromatic complexity and depth of flavours in a good Cox's Orange Pippin are remarkable. In our personal experience pear, melon, freshly-squeezed orange juice, and mango are all readily evident in a good example.

Cox's Orange Pippin is a mid/late season variety and is probably at its best if picked when fully ripe, or picked slightly under-ripe and left in storage for a month or so - it is not a long-keeper though.

Although primarily considered a variety for eating fresh, Cox is an excellent apple for juice / cider blends as well. It is also a versatile culinary apple, with an inherently sweet flavour when baked, and is a common ingredient in English apple preserves, chutneys, and mincemeat

Cropping from October it is Ideal for eating fresh, it stores well too.

Pear Conference

Conference is the most known of all pears, it is excellent as a dessert pear but is also exceptional when used in cooking.

The fruits are long and bell shaped with very firm flesh, they can be eaten hard or fully ripe and have a smooth juicy flavour. The trees crop very late in the season from October to November, the fruit will store well into January.

You can enjoy pear conference at its best by picked it when it’s a little under-ripe, you can them store them in a cool place and bring them indoors to ripen slowly. The tree is grafted onto the ‘Quince A’ rootstock producing a moderate vigour and promote fruiting at an early age.

These pears grow strongly and are partially self-fertile but make the perfect planting partner for another pear variety in order to aid pollination and also to increase the yield.

If you have room for just one pear tree then you should really ensure there is another tree which is a suitable pollinator in a 2 mile radius, which there most likely will be.

A popular English plum variety, their popularity comes from them producing a reliably heavy crop of superbly sweet, juicy versatile plums; perfect for pies, puddings jams or eating fresh from the tree.

Our fruit trees are expertly trained so they have strong main branches, ready to fruit heavily once planted and well-established. Our varieties are specially grafted onto roots that keep trees smaller for easier harvests, while maintaining impressive yields.

This popular and tasty variety is self-fertile (SF) so it flowers and fruits independently. They produce fruit, even when planted in isolation.

The trees seemed very dehydrated and distressed when they arrived. I planted them the day of receipt. So far they are hanging in but are definitely not thriving. Worried about them.
