Meet Marshalls Northern-friendly Squashes

Saturday 3rd January 2009

The harsher climate in Scotland and the north of England means squashes and courgettes don’t always thrive. Until now.

It took 10 years of trialling but the result is definitely worth it – the Hunter – an an early-maturing squash hardy enough to thrive as far north as Lancashire will mature four weeks earlier than other varieties. We’re so confident of its hardiness, next year we’re trialling it in Scotland where, from sowing early under glass, we expect great results.

Hunter Squash EXCLUSIVE has an open growing habit, producing delicious medium-sixed fruit with firm texture and an excellent flavour. One packet (15 seeds) £1.95.
