Marshalls Kitchen Garden Fruit and Vegetable specialists have built on their award winning reputation, by bagging a prestigious gold medal at this years RHS Hampton Court Flower Show, which runs until Sunday 11th July 2010.
This is the third year that we have exhibited at the RHS Hampton Court Gardening Show and we are ecstatic to announce that this year we managed to win the highly acclaimed gold medal for our display stand of Fruit and Vegetables.
Our stand (GT11) in the Growing Tastes pavilion features raised beds and a patio of pots, showing just how easy it is to grow salads and oriental veg, even in small areas.
There is also a fruit cage made from recycled timber, showcasing raspberries and Marshalls new everbearer strawberry - Finesse, plus a high rise walls of strawberries, herbs and salads, proving that if space is limited there is always an option to grow vertically!
Having won "Bronze" in 2008 and a "Silver Gilt" in 2009 we really tried our best to put a show stopping display on this year and it has certainly paid off.
I was thrilled with the Gold Award this year ;- “Seeing the award on our stand is a bit like Christmas Day – we are delighted that all our efforts have paid off again this year. Getting the fruits to ripen in time and ensuring optimum condition of so many different plants can be rather tricky and we are grateful to our growers for all their wonderful support.”
“There has been a great deal of interest in our self fertile Kiwi Solo, climbing up the pergola, plus our new Runner Bean/French Bean cross - Moonlight, which was featured on TV!
Gardeners World Presenter, Alys Fowler was also interested in our new Tender Stem Brokali, which will also be shown on TV this Friday.
The public are just so enthusiastic, whether experienced or new beginners. Proof that growing your own is as popular as ever.” Chairman of the judging panel, Colin Spires was clearly impressed with the Marshalls stand.“This Gold was a unanimous decision by the judges and is fully deserved. The team has clearly made great efforts to grow some great varieties and have executed their presentation well. It is their attention to detail that is so important”
