I grew Musselburgh for the first time 2 years ago and they are great leeks. I use the cardboard inner from toilet rolls to pop over them when they are pencil thick to increase the white without getting soil in between the growth. Good for winter soups!

I have used the Musselburgh for along time now and find they germinate well(sorry Karen) . They grow large enough not gigantic and last well left in the ground ,also have a good taste to them.

These were quite hard to germinate, and when I put them in the ground I thought there would be no way they would survive, however you should see them now ! Brilliant
