You do get a lot of seeds, and they germinate really well. However, this variety is a bit rubbish. Short stems, no rust resistance, and not a great flavour. For quality, there are better leeks.

Short thick stems

Sow Indoors: January-February under glass.

Sow Outdoors: March-April thinly into pre watered soil ½in (1cm) deep in rows 6in (15cm) apart in seed bed. Keep soil moist at all times.

Plant Out: April transplant when 8in (20cm) high into holes 6in (15cm) deep fill with water. Only when plants are well establised start blanching by earthing up.

Harvest: October-March.

Liquid feed during summer.
