Lavender Plants - Hidcote Blue

  • Catalogue Code 5120-7199
  • Pack Contents: 5 Young Lavender Plants

Lavender Hidcote Blue This traditional old-favourite is one of the top-performing Lavenders with fantastic scent and striking blue flowers. It's proved itself in the garden so well the RHS have given this variety their Award of Garden Merit. Hidcote Blue is drought tolerant and, as all Lavenders, fully frost hardy, so once planted in the garden it can be left pretty much to its own devices, requiring very little care. Keep it looking neat and trim by giving it a prune in the autumn and it will grow its wonderful flower back the following summer. Flowers all summer long and will provide a haven for bees and butterflies. Flowers sit on top of long, graceful stems, giving a soft, translucent look. Ideal for creating a cottage garden effect or for using as low-growing soft hedging Why Buy Lavenders? There's nothing like Lavender for adding traditional cottage-charm to a garden. Lavenders are not only beautifully scented and elegant, but they're adored by bees and butterflies too - you'll find them on the RHS Perfect for Pollinators list.

Lavenders arrived with the plants soaking wet. Wet roots would be good for some plants, but not Lavender. Subsequently a third of the plants have shrivelled and turned brown.

  • Growing PerennialsGrowing Perennials

Perennial plants are the mainstay of the flower garden; many will flower all summer, becoming dormant in autumn to reappear in spring. Perennials tend to be non-fussy plants and are easy to look after - they just need the old stems cutting back in late autumn, which helps to promote new stems and vigorous growth the following spring, getting bigger and better every year!
