The narrow leaves of this Kale have a heavily savoyed, ‘bubbly' look.
It cooks quickly, keeping a rich dark green colour. The leaves have a wonderful flavour and delicate texture.
If you only have room for one kale you won't be disappointed with Cavolo Nero!

Sow Indoors: April-May sow in a pre watered seed tray.
Sow Outdoors: June-July Transplant when 5in (12cm) high into pre watered soil and firm in. Keep soil moist at all times.
Plant Out: June-July in rows 18in (45cm) apart and 18in (45cm) between plants in required harvest postion.
Harvest: November-April Start picking young leaves from the centre of the plant to encourage side shoots.
Keep feeding plants to prolong shooting.
Kale all winter and surprisingly little space needed. White ffly love the leaves, but I just shook them off and encouraged the blue tits to visit.
