Growing Calendar for Jasminum officinale 9cm Potted Shrub
Delivery: Early March to Late October
Produces an array of starry white flowers in summer that are deliciously scented. Just plant in sunny part of the garden or in a large container on a patio.
Though not a true climber it can be grown easily as such; just weave the stems into a trellis. Excellent to plant this variety near a door, where its scent will give off a welcoming perfume.
You’ll receive our ornamental shrubs in 9cm pots from March.
This is at the perfect stage of development for your plants to get growing in the season ahead.
Plant in well-draining yet rich soil, incorporating some fertiliser like Organic Extra at planting and water well.
Feed with a high-potassium fertiliser as they come into flower.
Shrubs offer visual interest all year round – whether in full leaf, full bloom or with bare stems set against the winter sky.
If you want to add height to your garden and increase the vertical interest consider planting a tree in your garden. There are trees particularly suited for gardens which don’t grow out of proportion to your property or develop too thick a canopy that blocks out sunlight.
