Growing Calendar for Hebe 'Super Red' 3L Potted Shrub
Delivery: Late March to Early November
Hebe Super Red is a compact, evergreen shrub to give vibrant colour to your plot during winter with its stems of fresh green and red tips. Easy to look after and fully-hardy grow Hebe Red Edge for permanent structure in the outdoors and it performs all-year-long, resisting frost-bite and excessive rain. Contrasting blue flowers will appear each summer and bring in pollinating insects like beautiful butterflies and bees which stick around to pollinate crops and flowers nearby.
Both a joy to see be it high-summer or the deepest of winter and a really hard-working and useful plant to add to your outdoor space.
Grow in pots or in flowerbeds- they make great permanent structure in the garden. When other flowers are dormant Hebe Super Red is still in full swing and contributes to the permanent design of your garden, making it a stylish garden for all four seasons.
We give you Super Red as a potted plant with a strong root network. Plant in pots as a permanent centre piece to complement surrounding flowers or add to flower beds to give you that bit of outdoor permanence you can truly rely on.
Grow in pots with compost suitable for bedding to ensure the plants have the best soil to grow and thrive in. If you grow them in flower beds mix some compost in with the existing soil to give your flowers the best soil to grow in.
How your plants arrive
You receive our plant as A 3 litre potted specimen with an established root network for great growing potential.
This is perfect for planting between November and April when your plants can concentrate on developing strong roots underground before putting on more leaf -growth in spring. The roots are itching to get established in the ground which then provide water and nutrients to strong leafy branches in the growing season.
Your potted plant will arrive in a polythene bag so the stems and leaves are treated to a warm and humid environment great for their health. Your plant may also be bound in some corrugated cardboard to keep the plant in place and supported while being transported from our nursery to your doorstep.
Can’t plant straight away?
If you can't plant up your potted shrub straight away keep your potted plant in a sunny position and keep the soil moist by watering each day. Look to planting into its permanent position within 5-7 days.
If you have any queries please contact our customer service team.
Shrubs offer visual interest all year round – whether in full leaf, full bloom or with bare stems set against the winter sky.
If you want to add height to your garden and increase the vertical interest consider planting a tree in your garden. There are trees particularly suited for gardens which don’t grow out of proportion to your property or develop too thick a canopy that blocks out sunlight.
