Griselinia littoralis 'Green Horizon' is an evergreen shrub that is grown for its dense mid-green glossy, much like a Laurel. Its dense and fast growing habit make it a great choice for a hedging plant and because it is tolerant of salty air it’s the perfect choice for coastal areas. It can also be used in a shrub border where it will provide all year round interest and a big bold form, but wont out grow it’s welcome because it can be pruned to maintain it’s size. Offer Griselinia 'Green Horizon' a little protected from if cold, drying winds are a problem.
Dig a hole large and deep enough to take the plant’s root ball.
Gently tap the plant out of its pot without disturbing the soil around the roots.
Position the plant at the bottom of the hole so the plant’s crown is level with the surface and sits at the same depth as it was in the pot; make sure the roots are in direct contact with the soil.
Backfill with the excavated soil and firm in gently. Water to settle the soil around the roots.
Shrubs are easy-care plants getting better every year with the minimum of fuss.
Watering: Water regularly in the first few weeks after planting and then make sure the plants are kept moist in dry spell; but don’t overwater .Plants will send their roots down in search of moisture as they grow.
Feeding: Give shrubs a boost with a handful of granular feed hoed into the soil in spring.
Pruning: Most evergreens need minimum pruning. Prune in spring if necessary to maintain the plant’s shape and height.
