I have bough these gherkins for a few years nnow. They are the most sweet gherkins ever!! I use them in place of cucumbers and my husband is of Polish descent and loves them pickled. They produce tons of fruit. I find all other gherkins bitter and horrible. These are the only ones I like.
Just tucked in to our gherkin pickle made last year from Bimbostar gherkins. We had the plants in grow bags as we are on very heavy clay soil and they did brilliantly, masses of fruits over a long period and have kept really well in a sweet pickle. Great colour and lovely flavour. Couldn't find them this year at my local garden centre, so off to order for next year right now!
These are great gherkins. We don't have a greenhouse and live on a pretty exposed hill, but these plants are hardy enough to thrive and produce lots of fruit; they can get to mini cucumber size if you so wish and have been great in salads. They also don't take that much space up really so are fine for smaller plots providing you support them well.
