A traditional Italian climbing Borlotti bean producing an abundance of pods from near the base right up the length of the plant.

The attractive pods are 24-25cm long and have 8-9 kidney shaped beans per pod.

The beans can be eaten fresh or dried. Solista has good disease resistance too.

Ideal for freezing.

Dissapointed. Good number of pods, but only 2-3 beans per pod. Supposed to be climbers but maximum 3 feet high.

I must admit, it was the colour of these beans that convinced me to buy them. They looked fantastic against all the green in my veggie patch this Summer. It's a shame that the beans turn a murky brown when they're cooked, but they're very tasty and quite versatile too. I didn't get a great yield from my 8 plants but I plan to try and grow a lot more next year. All in all, very successful.

Climbing French Bean - Solista (Borlotti Bean) Seeds 1030-3137

Eat Borlotti beans fresh or dried.

Sow Indoors: April-May 1½in (4cm) deep in individual pots of pre watered compost. Keep soil moist at all times.

Sow Outdoors: May-June 1½in (4cm) deep in firm pre watered compost. Keep soil moist at all times.

Thin Out: 8in (20cm) apart.

Plant Out: May-June Harden off young plants before planting out into the required harvest position 8in(20cm) apart when risk of frost has passed.

Harvest: June-August

Traditional Italian Borlotti Bean with good disease resistance.
