Good germination rate, and 30/32 survived planting out (16 at start of May, 16 at end). Growing nicely in an exposed Pennine garden; foliage is strong and roots are swelling well. Worth growing - for the price of a pack of seed, I can only buy two roots!

Didn't have any trouble germinating them and the tops grew large and healthily but the final crop was disappointingly small. They take up a lot of space so next time I'll save it for something else and just buy a few roots when I fancy cooking them.

Cannot totally agree with description of being easy to grow. Although I've never grown celeriac before, have been gardening for many years. I found germination to be very uneven. Also, very hit and miss once planted out. Will try again this year as last summer really too poor to judge properly.

Delicious white flesh, smooth roots.

Sow Indoors: February-March thinly ¼in (0.5cm) deep in clean trays or modules of firm pre watered compost. Keep soil moist at all times.

Plant Out: May-June into the required harvest position 12in (30cm) apart with 12in (30cm) between each row.

Harvest: September onwards.

If overwintering in the ground cover with straw or compost to protect from frost.
