Baby Carrots for Christmas.

Sow Outdoors: July-August thinly ½in (1cm) deep in shallow pre-watered drills, in rows 30cm 12in apart. Keep soil moist at all times.

Thin Out: When as big as your little finger start harvesting alternate plants thinning as you harvest.

Harvest: September-December

Carrots do best on light, stone free, fertile soils.

Surround the carrot bed with a barrier of fleece at least 60cm high to keep low flying carrot root fly from your crop.
