Calabrese Seeds - Zen

  • Catalogue Code 1020-2112
  • Pack Contents: 100 Seeds

The dark green, rather domed heads of Calabrese Zen resist stem rots as water does not sit on them. Also has downy mildew resistance. Harvest in autumn 90-100 days after planting out. A tip-top variety!

Calabrese has a flavour that some find a little milder than sprouting broccoli. Add to that a shorter growing season and it makes an ideal vegetable for those who like quicker results.

Just like sprouting broccoli, this ‘superfood' is packed full of cancer-fighting properties, vitamins, iron and other health-giving benefits. Unlike broccoli, calabrese does not cope well with having its roots disturbed.

Like all young brassicas, it is advisable to use netting or bird scarers when planting out.

  • F1 Hybrids are crossed varieties that are exceptionally vigorous and longer lasting
  • Will flower well in full sun
  • Suitable for freezing
