Calabrese Kabuki is a very early variety, ready 65 days after planting out.

Kabuki Seeds can also be grown at closer spacing's than usual in order to harvest the heads when small and tender.

This will encourage the side shoots to develop for a second cropping.

Does just what it says on the tin - early; heavy-cropping, with good secondary yield via side-shoots (I am still harvesting - early November); steams well with excellent taste. The only reservation I have is that the first heads in my experience are not as big as shown in the catalogue - although this may be more down to my lack of skill than anything else!!

Calabrese - Kabuki Seeds 1020-2110

Baby heads' 65 days after planting out.

Sow Indoors: March thinly ½in (1cm) deep in clean trays or modules of firm pre watered compost. Keep soil moist at all times. Place in warmth 15-20°C (60-70°F) and keep moist at all times.

Sow Outdoors: April-May thinly ½in (1cm) deep in rows 12in (30cm) apart. Keep soil moist at all times.

Thin Out: 12in (30cm) apart.

Plant Out: Indoor raised crops April-May 12in (30cm) apart with 12in (30cm) between each row.

Harvest: June-July

Protect from Cabbage White Butterfly with netting.
