Used for centuries in UK royal and castle gardens buxus-ball topiary is still very much en vogue and you can replicate this royal look on your own plot easily with our buxus-ball plants, giving you that gratifying feeling of grandeur every day of the year.
Place 1 plant in a pot which is 12in (30cm) in diameter and its deep green, dense all –year-round glossy leaves will clearly guide your visitors into your garden. Repeat this for your second plant and position one plant on either side of your door.
An easy-care shrub, trim your buxus-balls with shears once a year in spring into a neat spherical shape and feed with fertiliser such as Marshalls Shrub and Tree Plant Food Concentrate.
We recommend you plant buxus-balls in several dark containers around doorways and dotted around on the patio or balcony, topping the compost with small white glittery stones for a modern feature, not out of place at the top flower-shows.
How your plants arrive
Supplied in a 5-litre pot, expertly raised and trimmed to sphere shape of 10-12in (25-30cm) diameter. Your pot arrives to you surrounded by a plastic film which keeps your soil humid for an excellent root environment which is good news for your buxus balls while in transit from our nursery to your home.
You will receive your potted buxus-balls in a cardboard box for extra protection so you can be sure your plants get to you in the best condition it can be for your garden.
Can’t plant straight away?
You can keep your plants with their plastic wrap for as long as 3-5 days so long as you make sure the root area is nice and humid and the roots feel moist.
Keep your plants in a light, cool position away from full sun like an unheated porch or greenhouse.
