Gijnlim is an early season Asparagus, a high yielding male variety producing medium thick, mid-green spears with closed purple tips.

Highly recommended for its excellent flavour and quality
, it is now our customers' firm favourite!

There is surely nothing that even comes close to the delicious flavour of freshly harvested home grown British Asparagus, simply steamed and served with melting butter!

The crowns came on time in April 2011 and all 10 grew very well, some giving 7 or 8 ferns. The temptation to cut and cook them was almost unbrearable, just managed to resist, can't wait to try one or two next year!

Planted my crowns a couple of days after delivery in April 2010. One spear I accidently knocked & broke, one was attacked?? by a bird & broke off, one kind of shrivelled & wilted half way up the stem. All grew a 2nd spear a few weeks later. 2 spears didnt appear so I dug down & found them & then they came up beautifully. I now have 10/10 all about 4ft high ferns (July 2010) & doing well after their wobbly start.
