These fairly new varieties have performed well in the UK, growing as far north as Yorkshire, and have been listed as one of the favoured grape varieties for growing in Ireland for wine. What makes them extra special is that they are bred from disease resistant varieties to make them more resistant to the mildews that tend to plague conventional grape varieties.

Solaris is the green sister of Rondo, producing naturally sweet dessert wines. This variety assure success in cooler regions and may be also eaten straight from the vine.
